Moving with the Ladies of Song

The Springfield Arts Council’s 2024 SUMMER ARTS FESTIVAL presents Moving with The Ladies of Song – A Dance Celebration.

Join us as the members of two of Springfield’s best-known dance companies, The Gary Geis School of Dance, and the Ohio Performing Arts Institute, collaborate and celebrate a diverse selection of songs from ladies of vocal music, in a special evening of specially-created dance!

Admission-free event; donations encouraged at intermission.

ABOUT GARY GEIS SCHOOL OF DANCE:

Founded by Gary Geis, the School of Dance provides dance education from experienced, professional staff, in a supportive, creative and fun-loving dance family and community! Children and adults from Springfield and nearby turn to Gary Geis School of Dance when looking for opportunity to learn and succeed in something new and exciting. Conveniently located in the renovated historic Bushnell Building in the heart of downtown Springfield, and with beginning to advanced classes for all ages, master classes with professional dancers and touring dance companies, long-standing relationships with local arts organizations, and performance opportunities with our pre-professional company, we are certain you will find what you’re looking for at the Gary Geis School of Dance.

ABOUT OHIO PERFORMING ARTS INSTITUTE:

Founded in 1985 by D. Scot Davidge, Ohio Performing Arts Institute offers a wide range of professionally-instructed performing arts classes in a friendly, family environment, as well as public performances throughout Springfield, Ohio and the surrounding community. OPAI’s mission is to provide the community with multiple performing arts experiences. The organization’s vision is to preserve and enhance the arts thought quality theatre education and performances in the community. OPAI will strive to achieve this through quality public performances at an affordable price, providing quality performance education, and broadening the awareness of the arts in our community.
