Educators, Administrators, and Friends,
The Springfield Arts Council is very excited to share an update on our new 2024-2025 performing arts series, BrightLight! This program introduces students to the arts by bringing the classroom to our local performing arts theaters!
Our season begins, in collaboration with Clark State’s Theater Arts Program and the Springfield Arts Council’s Youth Arts Ambassadors, with William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, an educational opportunity for Language Arts and Theater students. We wrovide a study guide for the performance as well as an after-show Q&A with the cast and crew! Seating for this immersive experience is limited so get your ticket requests in now!
This year we have a great lineup of artists to help develop our students’ understanding of history, science, and culture. Our February performances include, Harriet Tubman: Straight Up Outta the Underground, as well as, Doktor Kaboom! Look Out! Science Is Coming!
Following these acts, we have our Spring time performance, Tati Nuzi & Friends. This is an opportunity for our younger students to learn about Ayisyen (Haitian) culture through dance, music, storytelling, and visual arts! Join us on these educational yet inspiring explorations of human nature!
To secure reservations for your school’s attendance at these events, please email our Education and Logistics Coordinator at donovan@springfieldartscouncil.org. (See our BrightLight performance pamphlet below for more detailed information on our featured artists as well as information on securing tickets for the shows.)
The performing arts is a wonderful way to inspire and invigorate our students’ passion for learning and community engagement. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns you might have. We want to do whatever we can to further active and creative education within our community.
Thank you for making the performing arts a priority for your students!
Sincerely,
Donovan Geer
